Aries season always corresponds to the Spring Equinox, a time when life is born and reborn all over the earth. Likewise Aries marks the astrological new year, since it’s the first sign in the zodiac cycle. This is a powerful time for new beginnings, making positive changes in your life and improving your situation. It comes just three days after the Virgo new moon encourages us to let go of what’s holding us back. Whether in your career, love life, social situation, or creative projects, this time is as good as any to go after what you want.
This year, Aries season is relatively calm in terms of astrological movements. Mercury enters Aries on March 27th, meaning we’ll all feel a bit more empowered to communicate how we feel with a directness that maybe we didn’t have before.
The new moon in Aries falls on April first and continues the theme of new beginnings. All new moons have the potential for a fresh start, but especially this Aries new moon that comes at such a fruitful and transformative time of year.
The full moon in Libra on April 16th invites us to appreciate all the beauty blooming around us in springtime and to seek balance in our emotional lives. The contrast between passionate Aries and moderate Libra will help us recognize and appropriately work through any deeply-held beliefs and emotions we may be carrying.
ARIES AND THE EMPEROR CARD
The similarities between the Emperor card in the traditional Tarot and Aries are apparent as soon as you look at the card. The Emperor sits on a throne carved with two rams, the symbol of Aries. The card’s primary color, red, corresponds to Aries’ fiery and passionate nature. The Emperor himself wears armor and he’s prepared for battle, while Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of war and action.
The Emperor is confident and ready to take action. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to pursue his goals, knowing he’ll succeed. Some may view him as hotheaded, but his passion and drive are what brings him success in life.

ARIES SEASON RITUAL:
RING OF FIRE MANIFESTATION
This ritual takes advantage of the powerful transformative and manifesting energy at this time. Focused on Aries’ fiery passion, this candle ritual will help you go after what you want and achieve your goals.
You can customize this ritual by adding any crystals that match your specific intention, or even by setting up a crystal grid in the center of your candles.
MATERIALS:
- Sage or incense of your choice
- 9 red or orange ritual candles
- 9 candle holders or heat safe dish/surface
- Malachite
- Garnet
- Bay leaves
- Cinnamon sticks
- Optional: paper/notebook and pen
METHOD:
1.PREPARE YOUR RITUAL:
Before you begin this ritual, clear a big enough space. This ritual uses quite a bit of fire, so you’ll want to clear away any objects and potential hazards from the area. Make sure you have a hard, flat surface to set up your ritual.
Next, cleanse your space with sage or incense. Sage is a powerful energetic cleanser that will remove any unwanted or stagnant energies from the space. By doing this, you increase the potency of your manifestation.
Now it’s time to set up your ritual. Arrange the crystals, bay leaves, and cinnamon sticks in the center of your space. Malachite and garnet both have the properties of manifestation and going after what you want, and garnet has the added benefit of being one of Aries’ birthstones. Bay and cinnamon have manifestation and luck properties as well. Next, arrange the candles in a circle around the crystals and botanicals. The colors red and orange represent the element of fire. Red corresponds to manifesting your desires, and orange corresponds to success. You can use all red, all orange, or a mix of the two. The number nine is composed of three threes – three brings luck and prosperity. If you don’t have nine candle holders, you can melt the bottom of the candle onto a heat-safe surface – just make sure it’s secure!
2. BEGIN YOUR RITUAL:
To begin your ritual, set your intention very clearly. It may be helpful to journal about what it is you want to bring into your life. It’s important to be clear about your intention to make sure you manifest exactly what you’re trying to.
Once you have your intention set, light your candles. Begin with the candle closest to you and work in a clockwise direction. Take care during this step – watch out for any loose sleeves that might catch fire! As you light each candle, hold your intention clearly in your mind and, if you want, speak it out loud. Make sure to use the present tense, as if it’s already happened.
Let the candles burn out completely if you can do so safely (otherwise extinguish them and return to them later). As the candles burn, your manifestation is lifted out into the universe.
