My Moon is in Virgo - What does it mean?

Your moon sign is your inner self, your emotions, the “you” you don’t show to people. If your moon is in Virgo, your inner self feels most comfortable when things are organized and running smoothly. Maybe you find it hard to relax in a messy space, or you feel anxious when plans change unexpectedly.

If you’re a Virgo moon, try to find stability in your mental space. The wider world may be cluttered, but keeping yourself grounded in the mind can help you navigate the chaos outside.

Try wearing an amethyst pendant in the workplace or in crowds, carrying a celestite or prehnite tumble, or meditating with a singing bowl attuned to your Third Eye Chakra.

New Moon Ritual for Confidence and Creativity

Materials Needed:

1. Create a Sacred Space

Begin by tidying up the area where you’ll be performing your ritual. Virgo energy works best in a neat space! You may wish to create an altar (if you don’t already have one) with orange, yellow, and green colors. Orange and yellow stimulate confidence, and green grounds us in Virgo’s earth sign energy. Cleanse and sanctify your space by burning sage. As you burn it, visualize all cluttered energy disappearing as calm and peacefulness enter the space.

Take three deep breaths, inviting peace in with each inhale, and releasing stress and racing thoughts with each exhale. You may choose to take more than three breaths if it feels right.

2. Reflect on ways you want to innovate in your life

Take some time to meditate on areas of your life where you’d like to be more creative. Do you want to switch up your workflow in the office? Does your living room need redecorating? Is there an art form you’ve always wanted to try, but were too afraid to? Are you an artist or creator who’s been chewing on a new project idea?

The opportunity for creativity is everywhere in our lives, not just in what we call art! Everyone has the capacity for creativity, whether you consider yourself “artistic” or not. Remember, all art is good art!

You may have some ideas in mind, or you may want to meditate on this topic for quite some time. It’s up to you! If you’re coming up with dozens of places to be creative, that’s great! But for this ritual, it may be helpful to narrow it down to one or two areas or projects.

With your pen and paper, write down the ideas and creative projects you’ve chosen to focus on. Use language like, “I am ready to try ______” or, “I am innovating in ______.” At the bottom, write something similar to, “I am capable of accomplishing these goals and more. I am confident in my creative abilities.”

3. Prepare your ritual

Place your ritual candle in the center of your space. If you don’t have a candle holder, melt a bit of the wax at the bottom and stick your candle to a heat-safe dish or surface.

Hold each stone in your hand for a moment to connect with its energy. Then place each one around the candle. Carnelian and orange calcite promote both confidence and inventiveness, while clear quartz is ready to amplify ideas to help you bring them to fruition.

Have the paper you wrote on ready.

4. Perform your ritual

Begin by lighting your ritual candle and saying, “The light of my creativity and confidence burns bright.” You may choose to add your own affirmations to this mantra.

Take another deep breath while focusing on the candle. If you want, run your hands carefully above the candle (at a safe distance!!) to feel the heat from the flame. Do you feel the creative energy flowing into you?

Take your paper and read aloud what you wrote. As you speak, imagine what it will look like when you’ve tried those things or accomplished those goals. Fold the paper towards you and place it on your altar beside the candle and stones.

Allow the candle to burn out completely. If you need to stop, extinguish the candle and return to it later. You may already be feeling inspired, and may want to start working on your creative projects right away as the candle burns. Or, you may want to take some time for the ritual to do its thing.

Once you’ve finished the ritual, put the paper in a place where it will remind you what you’re capable of: on your desk in the office, in an art studio, or even on your bedside table to greet you each morning. Whenever you need a boost of confidence or creative inspiration, take a minute to reread what you’ve written.

Quick New Moon Ritual for New Beginnings

Materials:

1. Create a sacred space:

Begin by tidying up the area where you’ll be performing your ritual. Virgo energy works best in a neat space!

Cleanse and sanctify your space by burning sage. As you burn it, visualize all cluttered energy disappearing as calm and peacefulness enter the space.

Take three deep breaths. Visualize the clean slate of the new moon cycle with each inhale, and as you exhale visualize anything you wish to release leaving you.

2. Perform your ritual:

Place your candle in your sacred space. If you don’t have a candle holder, melt a bit of the wax at the bottom and stick your candle to a heat-safe dish or surface.

Light your candle, saying, “The new cycle begins with a clean slate. I am free to embark on new projects and paths.”

Hold the clear quartz in your hands. As the candle burns, set your intentions for this new moon cycle. What do you want to manifest? What new habits, ideas, or goals do you want to bring to fruition?

Visualize your intentions flowing from your palms into the clear quartz. Let the candle burn out completely. If you need to stop, extinguish it and return to it later.

When you’ve finished your ritual, carry the stone with you in a pocket or purse, or leave it somewhere you can see it every day.
